Dr. Antoinette Schoenthaler, EdD joined the Office for Inclusion and Civil Rights in September 2026. Dr. Schoenthaler serves as the Assistant Vice President for Inclusion and Health Equity at UConn Health, where she leads system-wide health equity integration and community partnership initiatives. She brings more than two decades of experience advancing health equity research, implementation science, and community-centered care across academic medicine and health systems.

Prior to joining UConn Health, Dr. Schoenthaler served as a Professor of Population Health and Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine and director of the HELIX [Health Equity through Learning, Innovation, and eXchange Lab] Lab at NYU Langone Health in the Institute for Excellence in Health Equity, where she led the development and implementation of equity-focused interventions across clinical, research, and community settings.

Dr. Schoenthaler earned her Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Clinical Psychology and Health, Education, and Behavior from Columbia University, New York, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York.
